Celebrity and actress, Jessica Simpson finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Tuesday morning. But, Jessica must be a little confused, because the child's name is Maxwell Drew Johnson. Isn't that a boy's name? Jessica said that was her grandmother's maiden name.This is her first child with fiance, Eric Johnson. The baby weighed in at 9lbs, 13 ounces.
Simpson (age 31) and Johnson (age 32) got engaged in November 2010. They haven't set a date yet but hopefully wedding plans will be announced soon. Jessica tweeted the below photo in October 2011 during her early stages of pregnancy "It's true! I am going to be a mummy!"
Jessica has been criticized throughout the pregnancy for gaining too much weight and for sharing a little too much information about her pregnancy, including a strange craving for buttered pop-tarts. She was also quoted on Jimmy Kimmel Live saying, ""I feel like I have a bowling ball sitting on my hoohah. Apparently I have a lot of amniotic fluid, so whenever my water breaks, it will be like a fire hydrant!" Jessica's outrageous admissions made her famous initially when she was married to Nick Lachey in 2002 on their hit reality show on MTV, Newlyweds. Who can forget her comments about Chicken in the Sea tuna!? Nick is also expecting his first child with his second wife, Vanessa Lachey (formerly Manillo).
Jessica should be applauded for her honesty about pregnancy and for making us laugh. Names aside, congratulations to the happy couple and little Max!
